Dalhousie Square
Dalhousie Square
Brief description
Source : Tito Dupret / WHTour.org
John Splinter Stavorinus, a Dutch Admiral visiting Calcutta in 1793-94, had described it as a site of "magnificent buildings that render Calcutta not only the handsomest town in Asia but one of the finest in the world". He was referring to the Dalhousie Square from where the city started growing. Today, such an praise only points up all the dangers the buildings are facing on the square.
